Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorder
TMJ problems commonly arise after dental procedures, but they can also occur after eating or lying with your head resting on your face for an extended period. Symptoms can vary and may include jaw clicking or pain, headaches, earaches, facial discomfort, limited mouth opening, or even tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
Physiotherapy focuses on releasing tension in the TMJ and the cervical spine, as well as relaxing the muscles and fascia in the surrounding areas. Relief is typically felt after the first session, although sometimes 1-2 follow-up treatments are necessary for long-lasting results.
