Spinal Deformities (e.g. Scoliosis)
Scoliosis refers to a permanent curvature that does not change with posture. The simplest test for suspected scoliosis is the forward bend test, which makes any asymmetry more apparent. A more precise assessment of the spine's shape can be provided through an X-ray.
A symmetric change in spinal shape occurs in conditions like Scheuermann's disease, where there is excessive thoracic kyphosis ("round back"), which does not fully resolve even when leaning backward.

During the growth period, these changes in spinal shape can be corrected to some extent. If the deformity is progressing rapidly, it is important not to delay intervention. In this stage, regular and more intensive exercise is necessary. Once growth is completed and the risk of significant progression decreases, the focus shifts to prevention or compensation for any potential back pain.
